March 28, 2014 KAMPALA - Ugandan officials were holding talks with the European Union on Friday over a controversial anti-gay bill that has left the east African nation facing sanctions and aid cuts.

Last month, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni signed a bill that calls for "repeat homosexuals" to be jailed for life, outlaws any promotion of homosexuality and requires people to report homosexuals.

13 If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.

The issues within the article are the passing of the anti-gay bill that allows the persecution of homosexuals for loving who they want to love. This bill allows those who are homosexual to be jailed for life, banned promotion, and allows the reporting of homosexuals. This bill closely relates to the biblical quote as it states that both men must be put to their deaths as a punishment for their "detestable acts" as they are guilty of a capital offense. This bill is something that should not be passed as I believe that people should be able to love who thy want and not be punished for it.
