#8: The King and the Mango

A king asked a sage to tell him about enlightenment. The sage replied, "How would you convey the taste of something sweet to someone who had never eaten anything sweet?" The king could find no answer and announced, "It's impossible. You tell me."The sage picked up a mango and handed it to the king saying, "This is very sweet. Try eating it!"

1.What do you think this story has to do with this course?

I think this story has to do with this course because in this course you have to be open minded to learning and experiencing new things, whether it be learning about a different religion, learning different views, or realizing new things about yourself. This story taught the king to try new things and have a different point of view that was simpler. This course allows you and encourages you to be more thoughtful in your views, yourself, and the way you learn.
