Meditation is used to clear your mind of distractions or "monkeys".
4. Why did The Buddha say the human mind was filled with drunken monkeys?
The Buddha said that the human mind was full of drunken monkeys because our minds are full of distractions. All of the monkeys want attention.
5. The Buddha said that we cannot get rid of our monkeys. If this is true then how do we deal with them?
This statement is true, we cannot get rid of our monkeys but can quiet them. Buddha taught his students to use meditation as a tool to quiet those emotions.
